The Department of Surgery, University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center and Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine is seeking a non-cardiac Thoracic Surgeon. University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center is a 1000 bed tertiary care center which includes the Seidman Cancer Center, a freestanding specialty cancer hospital. The hospital is a designated NCI Comprehensive Cancer Center. The Division of Thoracic and Esophageal surgery is a high volume, high quality program with an active research effort and five current full time thoracic surgeons
Duties will include patient care, teaching and research at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center and in the community hospital setting. Candidates should have training in minimally invasive techniques and esophageal surgery. Candidates should have a focus in non-cardiac, general thoracic surgery and an ongoing academic interest.
This is an academic position with appointments at the University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center and the Case Western Reserve School of Medicine with responsibility for student, resident and fellow teaching. Qualified applicants for assistant and associate professor should hold an MD or equivalent degree, and be board-certified or board-eligible in thoracic surgery.
