Beaumont Health is seeking a junior to mid-career BE/BC thoracic surgeon to add to their existing staff in Southeast Michigan. The thoracic surgical team is the largest in the Greater Detroit region and has a longstanding history of excellence in the community. Ideal candidates will possess excellent technical and interpersonal skills combined with sound clinical judgment. A subspecialty interest that will add to the expertise of the faculty is desirable. The group’s outstanding collegiality and teamwork provide an ideal environment to nurture a thoracic surgeon through the steep ascent of their early professional learning curve. The vision is to grow the busy practice while optimizing care delivery across the system. The new surgeon will be expected to provide services at two primary hospitals, one a tertiary hub and the other a smaller, community-based hospital, each staffed by additional surgeons who can provide cross-coverage and assistance. The System Chief of Thoracic Surgery has a clinical presence at all the hospitals and is available for mentorship, consultation and support as well. The new associate will be expected to help develop the referral base and strengthen community ties with the goal of unparalleled delivery of care through teamwork, collaboration, and innovation. The group also desires to grow their national and international academic presence through publications, presentations, and involvement in professional societies and committees.
