MOVIE NIGHT SUBMISSION

Lights, camera, action! GTSC is thrilled to invite you to showcase your surgical talent at our "Movie Night," scheduled for Friday evening during our Annual Meeting. This is your chance to present your exceptional surgical skills on the big screen and share your expertise with a captivated audience.

In addition, medical students, general surgery residents, thoracic surgery residents, and fellows are eligible for the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) Scholarship for the top surgical video submission. The selected recipient will receive this recognition and be invited to present their work orally during Friday evening’s session.

The excitement continues as five additional video submissions will be selected for presentation. While these submissions will not receive the scholarship designation, all selected videos will be eligible to compete for one of two awards.

The top two videos receiving the most votes from their peers will be honored with a certificate and a special GTSC prize package, recognizing excellence in thoracic surgery.

To ensure compliance with ACCME and FDA regulations, all presenters are required to disclose any financial or non‑remunerative interests related to their surgical videos.

Video Submission Instructions

  • File Name: Title your video using only the name of your movie (e.g., Assisted Lobectomy).
  • Length: Videos should be 8–10 minutes in duration. Each video will be allotted a 15-minute session to allow at least 5 minutes for Q&A/discussion.
  • Narration:
    • Include voice-over narration with your submission for evaluation purposes.
    • If selected to present, you will be asked to remove the narration and present the video live without audio.
  • Anonymity: Ensure that no identifiable information is included in either the narration or the video itself. Submissions are reviewed blindly.
  • File Size: The maximum file size is 1 GB.
  • File Name: Title your video using only the name of your movie (e.g., Assisted Lobectomy). No identifying information should be included in file titles.
