33rd GENERAL THORACIC SURGICAL CLUB ANNUAL MEETING

AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM THE GTSC CHAIR:

Dear GTSC 2020 Annual Meeting Attendees:

After thoughtful deliberations and given the rapid developments around the spread of COVID-19 – including travel bans by many institutions preventing speakers, sponsors and members attending – the leaders of GTSC have made the difficult but necessary decision to postpone the GTSC 2020 Annual Meeting scheduled for March 12-14.

Our goal is to work with the Hilton Tucson El Conquistador and determine a date for a meeting later this year, once the situation improves. Negotiations with the El Conquistador regarding this and the financial impact of postponing/cancelling the meeting are underway. We will have more detailed information over the next couple of days and ask for patience as we evaluate our next steps. We will keep the membership updated as additional information becomes available.

On behalf of the entire GTSC Leadership, we apologize to everyone for the havoc created to schedules and the financial burden associated with this decision. However for the safety of our members, we felt this was the only responsible choice given the circumstances. We thank you and the entire thoracic surgery community for understanding the extreme difficulty of this decision and for your commitment to the success of this meeting.

Sincerely,

Dennis Wigle, MD
GTSC Chair
